5 Creepys for 50 bucks

I bought this anthology Dark Horse has published of Creepy, 1 thru 5.
REally nice reproduction on quality paper. Which is kind of a first. Creepy was very much a pulp mag. With the nice cheap newsprint. It's exciting to see Frazetta's Werewolf in high contrast on good white stock.

They are complete recreations of everything published in the mag at the time. Ads, letters.

The first page has an invitation to subscribe for 6 issues. For two dollars!

I added a picture of the main man, Archie Goodwin, who wrote and edited most of those early Creepy stories. Behind him, it looks like Sergio Aragones. And shaking his hand some guy with a bad rug.

I met Goodwin at a Tulsa con back in the early 80s. Really cool guy. We talked about Sergio Leone westerns.

The Schmitz are Headed North!

My family and I are headed North where the weather is wetter and the land is less expensive! Seattle, to be specific. I just accepted a job with Popcap up there and we are pretty excited to be able to own a house again. Surlybird, we're on our way!

Cork 5

I finished Cork 5 over the weekend. Now I need to focus on finishing my graphic novel, dammit. Eight pages. Make me do it so I can get back to drawing hamsters and bosoms.

Had a sketchbook sitting on the kitchen counter and did this. Since I never sit down and draw anymore, at least I got this done as I'm going back and forth to the fridge

Reintroduction

Krayonzilla has insisted that I post something and say hello. For all those who remember me from my time with TAG, hi, and to those who are from other TAG incarnations, nice to meet you. This is an atypical piece of what I do for the North County Times. The typical pieces are not worth contemplating. Mostly, I observe the death throes of a minor metropolitan newspaper. I usually leave all modern interactive communication to my daughter so forgive any protocol infractions and my general blog ignorance.

Cork 4

Here's the last one, but I've started work on Cork 5 already so hopefully you'll be seeing more soon. Thanks to everyone for the comments. It made me harken back to the days in TAG where everyone critiqued each other's work and made me never want to come back to that wretched group again.
