So, while visiting with Ronnie in Seattle (thanks a heap, we had a fantastic time!) my copy of Adobe CS crapped out on me. It told me that I needed to re-install, so when I got home last night that's what I did... and it refused to load the majority of the components (never fear, Acrobat still works!). I call customer service this morning only to find out that there is no tech support on the weekends. Needless to say, I'm pissed that I will be going a whole week without a functioning version of CS. Arrrgh!
Well, perhaps I will do some scanning for my Con sketchbook... there's nothing else to do since it looks like rain for the entire coming week.
The Tech Guy, Leo Laporte is always complaining about CS crapping out and how much trouble Adobe puts the legitimate owner through to get his system back. It's all about protecting Adobe from piracy and pirates end up having less trouble than people that buy the software. Sorry it's cramping your style. Glad you had fun visiting Ronnie.
ReplyDeleteMike Christian sent a couple of letters to me telling me what he is up to. He's a partner is a company called XRAY Kid. Formerly employees working for Google, they grouped together and formed a company that is autonomous and has Google for a customer. But the great thing is they do comic books that are for developing into movies and games.
Maybe he'll come on and post other details and some examples of the company offerings.
Jeff Matsuda and Brian Wyser are his two main partners/ The Matsuda fellow is quite the artist. I guess he is their Jim Lee.

I finally got through to Adobe today... they gave me a bunch of specific instructions on how to fix the problem. I did them all tonight and it did no good what so ever.
ReplyDeleteI did learn that Photoshop regularly checks in with Mother Adobe to insure that your license is legit. I also learned that they don't know if this is a problem with Adobe software or MS... however, I've seen Mac instructions for a fix for the same problem, so I'm guessing its an Adobe problem. I'm tempted to make a trip to their offices in San Jose to see if they can fix it there... Grrr...

ReplyDeleteI loaded just Photoshop (rather than all of CS) and now it's working. Yeeeah!
Perhaps I will try loading the other parts of CS one at a time, but for now I'm going to leave it alone as I am doing an Artist in Residence demonstration at the Schultz museum this Saturday. Wish me luck!
