  1. Did you click don't allow comments.? I might have an important observation to make. I clicked the neccesary button to turn comments back on.

Now I'll comment on Iron Man. There are a number of sources saying wait till several seconds after the movie is over. Samuel l Jackson makes an important cameo.

And the Hulk looks OK. I like the painful looking transformation shot

  2. I think the cast looks very good this time around too.

  3. As I said before, if they leave out all of the inappropriate "daddy killed mommy" stuff, if it's more kid-friendly, I'm all for it.

It looks like it could be fun, although not as fun as Iron Man.

  4. IRON MAN COMPLETELY ROCKED ... I went tonight (Sunday) and will go again, probably next weekend w/Nathaniel ...

What thought the rest of you?

Also, I don't really see that another Hulk movie takes that character in any new ways for me ... But I do hope that several seconds after the credits end on The Incredible Hulk, Samuel L. Jackson is standing trying to convince Hulk that he should be interested in something called ... well ... I don't want to play spoiler for anyone that didn't wait 'till after Iron Man ...

  5. I just got home from Iron Man and it was a superior bit of movie storytelling. Everything was top notch. Good bad guys. Robert Downey was great. The script had lots of snappy fun rhythm. The FX made you believe. Even the after effects titles were fun. "Scarlet Letters" I believe responsible for those. I stayed and saw the extra at the end.

I also saw lots of trailers. Indy, Hulk, Love Guru, Dont Mess with Zhotan, and maybe two or three others.

Hulk up close and larger than life looks like good actors and acting but "gamey" effects. That would be forgiven with a really well executed story.

Iron Man had the best appearance by Stan Lee to date.

  6. Is Iron Man okay for kids? My kids like the Spiderman films and for the most part they were even appropriate for Tommy. How does Iron Man compare in that capacity?

Tom, I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that Fury is looking to form the Avengers. I think that they need to make the Thor film before they do that... Cap isn't a founding member, so he doesn't need to be in on the party, and Wasp and Antman don't merit their own movies.

  7. Oh, but Ant Man is ALREADY IN THE WORKS ... ha-hah!! I'll look for a link for that out of Daily Variety:

"Edgar Wright ("Shaun of the Dead," "Hot Fuzz") will direct and co-write with Joe Cornish the feature film "Ant Man." Always seen as a bit of a ridiculous super-hero -- his power is to control ants -- duo plan to give the big-screen "Ant-Man" a comedic twist."

Yes, Fury is forming the Avengers for a new film ... my comment was because the Hulk was an early Avengers member, but even in the toned down "Hulk LIKE wing head man!" form, he was easily the most mercurial. With what I've seen of The Incredible Hulk, it wouldn't be very easy to include him.

Would the early lineup be Iron Man, Thor, Ant Man ... but who else? Some incarnation of The Vision? ... Who knows ... ;-)

  8. It didn't have foul language and it didn't have a lot of sex. Sex was a very brief roll off a bed to waking up to a shot of a semi nude girl in a sheet.

The terroists are the most adult thing. They're violent but there is nothing you can really call gore either.

I'd say it was very comparable to Spiderman wholesomeness

  9. Cool... thanks for the info, Ellis. And thanks to you too, Tom!

  10. AICN had this to say:

Marvel plans to launch its 2010 film slate with the release of the sequel, Iron Man 2, on April 30, 2010, followed by the launch of Thor on June 4, 2010. Additionally, Marvel is planting its feature film stakes for summer 2011 with an Avengers-themed summer – a two-picture project which will debut on May 6, 2011 with The First Avenger: Captain America (working title), followed by The Avengers in July 2011.

IRON MAN WAS DA BOMB! If anybody goes to see it again. During the Vegas casino scene. The music playing in the background is the Iron Man theme from the 1966 cartoon + the Arab baddie had a very large ring that stuck out. + the slight mention of the Order of the 10 rings. Thats got The Mandarin written all over it for the next movie.

    An iron can.

I agree. Iron Man was great. The best Marvel movie to date I think.
