I let Doug borrow my Blackwing 602

Watching the Green Hornet. I can't remember a recent big budget movie that I have enjoyed less. A really bad misfire

Kabam is hiring

Click on the title for the link...  It looks like they need a variety of folks... Lead Artist, 2D artist, UI artist, Game Writer, Production Managers.  It appears that they have offices in SF and Redwood Shores (By Redwood City in the Bay Area... not far from where I lived about 3 years ago).

It looks like this company is trying to bridge the gap between Hard Core games and Social games, throwing some MMO elements in for good measure.  This might be a pretty good bet... Zynga's move into the Hard Core-ish game field, Empires and Allies, is doing pretty well on Facebook.

The Gun Nose Chronicles: The Final Edit (mu ha ha ha haaaa)

Use the title for your link.

I fixed the comment Ellis made. Good on ye, Ellis!

The YouTube video is currently unlisted, so you can only see if you have the share code. Now you have the link from TAG! Best viewing is in HD (720p) because then you can stop it and read the pages. Lower res makes that harder.

This is pretty much the comic as it is now. The credits pages still have a couple of errors (that I have corrected) like Clydene Nee having only ??? after her image and name ... Check it out. I'm pitching it now and will report back if anything fun / notable happens.

Since 1995-Rick Randolph draws me-In 1997

I frighten people don't I? I didn't realize my power.
I found this shifting old mags around. I wanted to throw it away but since it was something I probably picked up the year I was selling my comic book, I had to scan it before I could throw it away.
Finally let Treasure Planet make it all the way to the top on Netflix. Great movie. I notice that Alex Nino was a designer. I felt like I could see it in costume design, how clothes hung and the rhythms in some of the tech.

Thanks Ellis!

Thanks for the pencil Ellis!  Here's the first drawing to come out of that pencil.  I haven't drawn with a pencil like that in so long I think I'm a bit rusty... I plan on tinkering with the drawing some more to pull more values out of it.

This was a lot of fun... I think after doing that strip digitally for so long its pretty refreshing to go back to traditional media.

Shotgun Vacation

Summer road trip. The thing that amazed about this girl (besides, y'know, the fact of her demanding to play the Big Buck Hunter standup), was her lightning-fast pump action. A killing machine.

Her shoot-from-the-hip stance is spot on, too, tho' she was a righty. Her dad was a big, tattoo'ed, cowboy-hatted dude. Looked rodeo fer sure.

p.s. I'm cross-posting this to Brush Pen Breakfast.

Zynga?

Maybe I'm the last to hear about this, but apparently Zynga is building a branch up in Carlsbad, hopefully bringing some video games job opportunities to San Diego! Anyone else know about this?

Has Hollywood has enough of Comic-con? I hope so.

Comic-Con, as a growing number of movie marketers are realizing, has turned into a treacherous place. Studios come seeking buzz, but the Comic-Con effect can be more negative than positive. The swarm of dedicated fans — many of whom arrive at the convention in Japanese anime drag or draped in Ewok fur — can instantly sour on a film if it doesn’t like what it sees, leaving publicity teams with months of damaging Web chatter to clean up.

I've done a "save entire page" to archive the knowledge. It works very well because it has no remote linked flash banners and other trash. WSWYG with the save.

Palomino BLACKWING 602s arrive
Very not Bad. I like it as well as any of my scoring pencils and I can tell just a smidge of buttery difference favoring to the original. Just a smidge. But I may like the new ones hardness better. I'll buy more.

Tom Moon. Notice this guy talks about butter as well.

My Last Blackwing-The Stub- The Horror!

I'll tear the flared eraser off eventually so I can use my extender on it.

Blackwing 602 tests

I got in the NEW Palamino Blackwing 602. I tested it to the original 602 and the Palamino Blackwing. My final take is the ORIGINAL is still better, but the Palamoino 602 is an improvement over the Palamino Blackwing. They said they made the Palamino 602 harder is true but it's not as hard as the original. If they make the lead harder it might be comparable to the original. It's better but it's just not there yet. You can just tell by the handwritten comparison. The Palamino Blackwing is a lost cause, It's just TOO soft, smudgy and gritty. The Palamino 602 is a lot less gritty and it is a smoother but it does smudge but not as much as the Palamino BW. In my opinion, the ORIGINAL IS STILL THE BEST. The New 602 is good and can be used but until they fudge the lead formula it still won't be as good as the original. Close but no cigar.

Awesome. It's been archived for about 3 or 4 days.

Time waster

Hey. This Steve Canyon DVD. I got it from Netflix. But they had only 4 segments. I wanted more so I bought the DVD they also offer with 12 segments. Not available from Netflix. Probably repeating these 4 segments. But I needed more. Great, high quality images from 35mm film. If you're into aircraft at all, this is just porn. Awesome stuff and strong, manly stories. Manly I tell you.

MANLY MEN!

DID anyone know this?

That both these books have finally come back into print AFTER so many years. Hard covers too.

Inspirational Words

The stuff on this card is very sketchy. Done in pen. But also sketchy because I'd start on one face and then add a new face's feature details. From a William S Burroughs documentary that's available on Netflix streaming.

click title for link!

Have you guys heard about this?? I know a few of the guys and they're creating an alternative to the usual Con experience. It's a gallery/bar/event/retail/life-drawing space to get pros talking to fans. It's free (there might be seminar pay events) for the most part. I'm gonna check it out. Interested??

Booze? Did somebody mention booze??
