Own a little Ellis

  1. Your two posts triggered that find about Mike Turner being dead. I was trying to track down Mike Diaz for you. Never heard of him by the way, even though we would have maybe gone to a couple of comic book conventions in Oklahoma at the same time as me.
Your other post about the MsTree/Scythe, yeesh. That was quickly cancelled. Terry Beatty now does Scarey monsters magazine, and Max collins write graphic novels that star Tom Hanks. The Mike Turner revelation stacked against my own skill in the Scythe. I was about his age when I did the Scythe, but boy does it look like ass.

  2. I just realized the question to ask is HOW did you surf to this Rick?

  3. A cursory Ellis Goodson search on Amazon brings up (besides Scythe) two other mentions: one in Doug TenNapel's Creature Tech and the other in Todd Jordan's The Encyclopedia of Non-Sport & Entertainment Trading Cards Vol. 1: 1985-2006, which includes Ellis in the "Comic's Future Stars, 1993 Premier Edition" ... along with a few other familiar names (Ben Herrera, Ken Meyer Jr., Roger Robinson). Does anyone actually have a set of these cards?

What almost nobody knows, however, is that Ellis also illustrated The Roo Plays Baseball, a kids' book by Steve Turner. Barnes & Noble sells it for $6.99; it's also available through Amazon Marketplace for $16.17 (new) or $54.38 (used) ... go figure! Alas, the only photo is the thumbnail at B&N, but I may be able to find the original files on my oldest computer. Hey, Ellis, just how healthy is your "hush" account?

  4. Wow. Dig that Hungarian headdress Beata.
I just realized with all this bad work coming up in hits with my name that I'd better get busy doing something I'm proud of.

I don't know what a hush account is. What is it?

  5. You know: the account from which you pay me to keep quiet!
