I saw many things that I wanted but was unable to justify spending the money. I got away with only buying a $15.00 volume of Little Lulu reprints from the Bud Plant booth. What did everyone else buy -- or sell -- or see, or feel or touch or taste or smell for that matter?
kz SAYS! i PICKED UP THESE
I bought a trolley ticket. Got a lot of free stuff. Company promos, free table announcements of things. I've created a new browser bookmark folder called comiccon. I put all the businesses that interested me in it.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah. I bought a trolley ticket 4-day pass also. First time I've used the trolley and I think I'll never go back to driving my car downtown again. We missed you at the TAG dinner Ellis.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry Tom. If it's any consolation, I consigned myself to the ninth level of 405 hell by leaving early Saturday. I SO wish I had stayed to see everyone.
ReplyDeleteSpent way more than I expected. Got Stephen Sliver's Passion for Life at half off cover, AnatomyTools Skeleton busts,Gary Montalbano's 1st Art book and a number of CD soundtracks that I got super cheap. Raymond Kinstler Art book at Bud Plant, super cheap. Trolley fare + food $$$. Lucky I had some good ebay sales this past month to generate some cash. And NO TOYS what so ever, I'm mostly done with that crap. Oh and one impulse buy. DVD collection of the TV version of Commando Cody, Sky Marshall of the Universe. Been wanting that for awhile.
ReplyDeleteUnable to enlarge Krayonzilla's picture by clicking on it. That seems to happen every once in a while. Might need to be re-posted.
ReplyDeleteLittle Lulu comic looks great. How many stories in it? Good stuff Jim. The anatomy busts qualify as serving the toy fetish though.
ReplyDeleteNOOOOOOOO. The anatomy busts qualify as drawing tools
ReplyDeleteThe Little Lulu volume contains six comic books, issues 112-117. Each comic contains five stories. That's thirty stories!
ReplyDeleteWhen was the last time you bought a 32-page comic book that contained five stories?
That was back in the day when the art was simple enough that you could have 8 to 10 panels per page.
That Lulu is a value packed then. I think the president of the Lulu appreciation society is Jackie Estrada.
