  2. I like it a lot too. I've always liked ants as cartoon characters. Remember that old Warner Bros. cartoon about the two ant armies going to war over a picnic spread? At the end, they make piece and start dividing up the spoils, only to fall into fighting again over whose half of the cake will have the cherry. Is my memory serving me correctly? Anybody else remember this?

  3. Thanks guys and Tom I've seen that cartoon. Were the ants the focus and themain characters or was their war incidental to driving Daffy Duck or someone else crazy trying to keep their picnic intact?

I'll ask some toon scholars around here. Fairly certain we're talking WarnerBros

  5. I've been googling this morning too Ellis. I don't remember Elmer being in the cartoon at all, or any other characters other than the ants. But I noticed that "Ant Pasted" (with Elmer, released in 1953) re-uses footage from an earlier cartoon "The Fighting 69½" made in 1941, a WWII propaganda cartoon. I must be remembering the original version.
