Title is a link to a series of 30. And it's British Retro making it even more novel. Novel, get it?
Rick, Talk about your undeserving Novels for make believe movie novelizations. The Konga is an ACTUAL paperback movie novelization. I found another for Reptilicus
I'm not sure if I should be impressed or concerned that someone put the time and effort into that. Some of them are very clever, but the movie choices themselves are rather odd.
ReplyDeleteI've always been challenged when I had to think in strictly graphic terms. I'm a fan of the abstract type of book covers by one guy that populated the paperback racks when I was growing up.
ReplyDeleteI have those in a big volume somewhere.
I'll post later to a link of the giuy I'm thinking about.
I loved Reptilicus ... isn't that the one where the protagonists battled the T-Rex with a steam shovel near the end? Woo hoo!! It don't get much better than that!
ReplyDeleteNo. You're baiting me Tom Carroll. Dinosaurus had the steam shovel battle. Reptilicus was the Danish movie with bad dubbing that had a rod puppet dragon. I'll post that one too.
ReplyDeleteAnd Konga had Michael Gough (played Alfred in semi recent Batmans) playing a crazy guy that comes back from Africa and injects his chimp with enlargo serum. Turning it first into a killer gorilla. And then accidentally into a Kong size ape that kills him. And then he shrinks back to Chimp size. Gough was also the evil spirit with wooden legs found in the hidden chamber at the end of Legend of Hell House. Richard Matheson.
ReplyDeleteMichael Gough also played the Theater Owner/Villan in the Hammer Phantom of the Opera with Herbert Lom. In Reptilicus, don't forget the cheesey spitting green goo. Also WB DVD on demand now offers From Hell it Came.
