"Premakes" The Avengers (1952)

I found this amusing

I've lived in Southern California for 25 years

The Challenger disaster happened just a week or so after I moved.
25 years. It's been good.
Could have been better.
Now I want out before it turns into Detroit.

Project Waldo becomes Nonplayer

One of our TAG North regulars, Nate Simpson, has the first issue of his incredible book coming out in April.  Chick the headline to go to the official website.  Nate is amazingly talented, soft spoken and a super nice guy.  Buy this book... you will not regret it.

Enter The Void - I Can't Watch It

So, special fx extravaganza. Always worth a look. Free, streaming on netflix. It's from the pov - looking right through the eyes- of one guy. Great for showing off your 3d match move prowess. Except for the only flaw it needed for me. The guy added a strobe effect of a lightning quick black wipe. At first I thought the beginning room had a ceiling fan causing the effect. Then I realized it's a BLINK! I can't watch it. He needs to take that after effects layer, delete and re render.

A smart style idea for me-click title

I love this look. And could fairly easily achieve something a lot like it, but give myself a lot of mental noise that i need to veer into the fully painterly look that abounds in most concept art.

Promo Trailer for CAVEMAN RUNNER iPhone Game

...

Yes. My first iPhone game.

CAVEMAN RUNNER

My friend Ryan and I are putting the finishing touches on it and probably will have it submitted by Feb. 1, 2011. I'll post again when it is actually in the App Store

Windy Day

It animates when you click on it.

The Things Seen

Best view from the bar serving the best breakfast in Kirkland. On a more ambitious morning, perhaps I would've rendered the The Game's early-risers backdropped with a wallful of state lottery panels and more sports television in an alternative aspect ratio.

Possibly the best movie ever

I missed part one with my initial post, so I corrected that. The first part is just as entertaining.

Website Art Director needed

We are looking for a Web Art Director to lead the team who works on our website.  This is an important portal for selling downloads of our games as well as marketing our games to the general public.  This job is based in our Seattle office.

Click on the title for a link to our job website to get the full job description.  Please pass this info along to anyone who you think might be interested in it (and qualified, of course).

PopCap does ECCC

A group of artists at our Seattle office of PopCap have gotten together to create an antholoy of comics to sell at the Emerald City Comic Convention.  Most of them are also putting together sketchbooks to sell.  Here's a sample of what they are up to:

Sadly, I didn't have time to contribute myself, but it's looking grand and I'm hoping it makes a big splash at the convention.  They have a batch of tables together, so they can all sign the book at once.

Godzilla?

I drew this on the flight to Nashville over the holidays... I'm not sure exactly what it is, but I kinda like it.

Click title for kalidescope swf

it's pretty cool.
The bottom drawing is from a movie called The Square. Good Aussie noir film that reminded me a lot of Blood Simple.

Cork 50!

A milestone of sorts. I know the daily strips get to fifty in about 2 and a half months, but dammit I'm trying. Anyways, woo hoooooo! Number fifty!

A completely re-tooled Cork webpage!

Hey everybody, Please check out the SPANKITY NEW Cork website! It's been completely streamlined and improved and will make posting and blogging a breeze now. My girlfriend is the brains behind the operation, she tackled ComicPress with a ferocity unmatched while I cowered in a corner and lo' and behold a newer, cooler webpage emerged! Now it looks and feels more professional and you know how Tom Moon INSISTS on professionalism. Ranjo couldn't give a rat's ass about professionalism... and Ellis just wants to know where his next sandwich is coming from.

So go to www.corkcomic.com and see what the hell I'm squeaking about. Oh, also, if you didn't know I'm going to be coloring the Cork strips from now on. I did the first six then skipped to thirty to catch up with the Thursday posts, so click on the "First" navigation button to see the beginning few. I'll try to finish off those early ones as I'm able.
I also created a new Cork page on Facebook so go there and "like" it if you can!

First Peek At New MAD Magazine submission

Hey. MAD Magazine is expanding and they're looking for new work. I came up with the notion for next Halloween to have a two page spread labeled: "A Kindergartener's View of Horror Movies ..."

This is the first one sheet. The others will just be sketches for the pitch: "Yucky!!," "The Whining," and "The Thing (In My Lunchbox)"

Johnny B. Gerardy inked my sketch and I did the rest. I'm putting the actual pitch together right now and it will leave on Friday.

Doug T is doing a daily WebComic, RatFist

Click the title to get there.
Should work now. Sorry about that.
Just 3 strips deep thus far.

Just saw that Anne Francis passed away

Her and Leslie Nielsen passing just a month apart of each other.

Trina Robbins also did a writeup

TC pencils, JBG Inks, Joe C's flats ...

Haven't posted in a while. This is in progress, but it's showing great promise!!

My own pencils on this one page story. Johnny B's inks, and Joe Cesario is coloring.

This is one of the last two stories that need to be finished. The other is by Kali (and I've seen the first page of that three pager and it is very, very fine indeed).

Mark Bode is going to publish his Dad's Work Diaries

Which I will instantly snatch up. Bode was a pretty big influence on me. And about a million other people.

GOD. This is embarrassing. Here's me, Probably mid 70s. Trying to be BODE. Such bad writing and attempts at being hip. I did the art on Tracing paper and then "waxed" it , and put it on better board.

I wanted to be like Bode and work for a Men's magazine like Nugget. I think I sent xeroxes to Screw and gave up the idea. No reply from Al Goldstein.

"His career went into a complete STUMP!" Someone just punch me in the face. You can see why i'm so impressed by things like Cork that are actually funny.
