It's interesting how these archetypal pulp-ish characters and themes keep reasserting themselves... flying suits, serums that make men into giants, something surviving in ice for years and years, and so on. The author of these "Premakes" not only has a vast knowledge of old films and TV shows to pillage to make these things, but a keen sense of how the more current versions of these characters echo things that have thrilled past generations.
Hey Rick, Speaking of old-timey stuff, as long as you're on this thread, I have a piece of news for you. This coming month, SOE is going to start up a "throwback" server for the original EQ. You will be able to play the original game with original art just as it was when it was first released. Then they will progressively release the update content as time goes by. I plan to go in and take screen shots and look around for old times sake. As low-poly, low-rez as it was, I have always liked the old art and animations much better than the new. If your Station account is still active you might enjoy seeing your old stuff resurrected.
I'm hoping that Turbine does the same with AC2... we had a bunch of really fun stuff in there that would be a great extra for the free-to-play crowd to investigate.
I like the music. Especially the THING themes.
ReplyDeleteHow fun is that!?

I especially like Avenger Emma Peel as Avenger Black Widow.
ReplyDeleteWhat Rick said. Must have taken a tremendous amount of time for that guy to assemble all those clips.
ReplyDeleteYeah, that was brilliant! Makes you wish they made an Avengers movie back in those days just so Diana Rigg could play the part!
