Wendling on one side, Me on he other

I've been Copying Claire Wendling cats. The goal is to invent cats like her because once I do I can go on to ruling the world. But the cats on the right are sadly what I invent on my own.

  1. I'll bet she can't draw gorillas nearly as well as you. Heh, the top lion reminds me of Itchy Brother. A No-Prize to the first person who can identify that reference without googling it. And who were the other three main characters?

  2. Looks pretty good to me Ellis! I have alot of Claire Wendeling books and I guessed that the ones on the right were hers. Damn you and your deceptive ways!

  4. itchey brother and scratchey rat? Now I have to look it up. It's a cartoon I'm sure of that. Probably one of those breakfast cereal cartoons.

  5. wikipedia has a great run down for all of the Itchy Brother line up. Biggie Rat, not scratchey Rat. It comes back to me now. And there was a minor ceral tie in but it wasn't the same group of cerael hucksters that were actually on the box. "Can't get enough of that sugar crisp" Who was singing that song

  6. King Leonardo, a lion, ran the country of Bongo Congo along with his prime minister, a skunk named Odie Cologne. Leonardo's brother was Itchy Brother and his companion was Biggie Rat who talked like Edward G. Robinson. The show also included the Tutor Turtle segment ("Help me Mr. Wizard!") and Twinkles the Elephant who was the mascot for his cereal. Sugar Bear sang "Can't get enough of that Sugar Crisp" in a Bing Crosby kind of voice.

  7. Cats are hard, big or small.

I thought we were going to become horse experts first?
