Eeek. It's been a looooong weekend staying up until 3, 4, sometimes 7 am at work to get the Cork book ready to send to the printers for a Tuesday deadline. But in about an hour I'll have everything done! I won't be able to end at the point I wanted to (about two strips away from that) but I finished up a bunch of little drawings for the interior as well as Cork 'in progress' pages and some sketches from the early beginnings of the strip. I'm gonna print out 100 of them for the Con. Order yours today! Only $879.00!
Oh, here's the next Cork I managed to squeeze in at the last minute.
That hard work will be rewarded I'm sure. Price is a little stiff but that's expected with small press runs.
ReplyDeleteI'll definitely try and score one.
Sunday, when everyone is making deals.
This will be great to have in hand and pitch to other publishers for the expanded volume.
"And the print run goes to ..."
ReplyDeleteWho ended up being able to fulfill the exacting specs for the Cork 100 print run? I might need the info for next year ...
Yeah, who did you go with?
ReplyDeleteYeah! WHo'd ya go with!?
ReplyDeleteYeah! Who'd I go with?!
ReplyDeleteOh... right.
ReplyDeleteBeata hooked me up with the winning printer. www.selfpublishing.com on the east coast is extremely helpful and accomodating. Where Lulu.com was going to charge me a little over $600 for 100 books, they will end up charging me around $450.
The last time I remember looking into Lulu, I was discouraged by the number of hoops you had to jump through in order to get the pages into an acceptable form for printing. So even more than cost, ease of use is important to me. I don't want to have to do much more than send the images off in the right order at the right size, with simple specs about paper quality, size etc. Ellis, you worked with Lulu. Do you remember what I'm talking about?
