One of my Earliest TV Memories

Great limited animation with silhouettes. It freaked me out for some reason. I don't remember a single plot to Suspense Theater but I remember this opening.

I misremember one part. I could have sworn it ended with the silhouette guy trying to keep two cliff walls from crushing him. It is similar to the space that opens around him as the foreground figures separate and reveal the silhouette man.

  1. I think I've seen this before... I'm guessing that this was an anthology series, like Alfred Hitchcock Presents, Twilight Zone and the like.

Very stylish, and I love the Lenard Bernstein type score.

  5. Krayonzilla, did you all the comment deleting? Thanks for the link. It's interesting a guy held in such high regard now had so much actual hostility directed his way. Be careful how you do edges, some people are opinionated.

  6. Nice history lesson, Zilla... now that you mention it, I can hear a little early Williams in there.

  7. It really talks of my age ... but I used to watch this program on TV back in the day and LOVED the theme and the animation ... lost youth reclaimed!! Thanks so much.

BTW: we also used to watch Bat Masterson (with Gene Barry) and a program called "The World Beyond" that ran scary movies like "The Giant Claw."

  8. Gene Barry was cool. I had a Bat Masterson derringer belt buckle. You distended your belly and the pistol pivoted out and shot a cap. Or maybe a 22 shell if you were a hobbyist zip gun maker. I bet I can find a youtube clip of the toy
