What I miss about Facebook-Movie recommendations

The movie still at the top is from BLAST OF SILENCE. I learned about it from Facebook. I forget who was recommending it.
The director, Allen Baron, was a comic book artist and illustrator that decided he wanted to make a movie. 1960 New York City. It cost about 20k. It's a Criterion edition and has a great doc where he talks about the making of the film.

  1. I think it's time you went back to Facebook Ellis. It's just one more way to make a social connection. An artist who spends a lot of time alone in their home needs to maintain a foothold on the outside world or you may drown in your own unrestrained imaginings!

  2. Tom, FB would have any number of advantages. But I've discovered I have no self control and stay linked to it way way too much. That is the main reason I'm off. And I would say life has been better off FB.

I'd have to get off anyway when that Saudi Sheik buys facebook.
500 billion is being discussed. The Sheik's business people are telling him it will never generate a billion in revenue.

  3. My googling search says that story was a joke piece that was picked up by the Saudi press and reported as truth.

  4. I believe the story. It was on the internet.

  5. I used to believe Ellis because he was on Facebook...

    ...now, I'm not so sure.

I agree with Tom--we need Ellis on FB!

Tom, if he doesn't agree now, let's start a "Help-Get-Ellis-Back-On-Facebook" page.
