I mostly got toys- but I got a couple of Harvey Comics with Howie Post in them.
My favorite thing I got was this 1/12th scale model of a Gibson Les Paul! I used to own one, so it fills me with happy nostalgia!

Oswald the Lucky Rabbit and Sugar Pops Pete are now resting with my soakie toy collection.

ReplyDeleteSoakies? Boy, thoses are well before your time. I had that Muskie the Muskrat from Deputy Dawg plus Huckleberry Hound, Dick Tracy and all the Universal monsters when they were made in the 60's. Wish I still had them. Unfortunately the brittle plastic wasn't any good on the heads if you dropped them. CRACK!!
ReplyDeleteThe funniest ones I've ever seen are those Batman and Robin ones- hilarious!
ReplyDeleteIssues of Little Audrey and Spooky from the fifties/early sixties? Great stuff! It's like me being nostalgic for the 1920's. When I was young my Mom used to dance the Charleston to make me laugh. Who's leaving deletable comments on our blog?
ReplyDeleteYou got some Re-ment, Yay! Very cool selection of toys. Who are those two little dolls in the middle?
ReplyDeleteThat was me Tom. I keep posting with my other login ID and it goes to approve comment.
ReplyDeleteOh, I thought it was some objectionable comment a blog stalker had left and one of us had to censor it.
ReplyDeleteyou got Porco Rosso and Laputa as well. If you haven't seen those before you're in for a treat. I believe those DVDs always have the storyboards as a special feature as well
ReplyDeleteTom: I went through my 20s phase when I wanted to marry Buster Keaton. Fantasyland, cry.
ReplyDeleteDane: Yes I loooove Re-ment toys, they are so damn adorable! The dolls in the middle are "Little Pal" and "Little Pullip" small versions of the big ones. I bought Humpty Dumpty and the Queen of Hearts.
Ellis: I have seen them- and I love them! I'm slowly buying them all so I can watch them multiple times haha. The two I am missing are Nausicaa and Spirited Away, although I have yet to see Pom Poko. The new one will be in theaters soon I can't wait to see it!!!
