Whoa! ... I was just experimenting with a free online polling tool for our CON get-together and kaboom! ... this appeared on the blog.
Well, we might as well go ahead and use it. I can only do one question at a time, though. Next one will be "Where should we meet?" Any other suggestions are welcome
No, the drawings aren't mine; they're part of the poll's background template options. I can't find a preview mode with this poll, so the question/answers get posted "blind" to my chosen destination (this blog). And I haven't a clue what you mean by "the little promise rings link." Sorry.
BTW, the poll has its own section for comments ... see the link at the bottom of the options list.
Sorry, guys, I can't get the poll to post more than one question. :-(
Can we just do this the "old-fashioned" way by responding on the blog?
QUESTION #2 = WHERE do you want to meet? (Options are listed in order of proximty to the Con.) - Old Spaghetti Factory - PETCO Park/Candy Factory/hotel? - Denny's @2137 PCHwy - Denny's in Mission Valley - Other (please specify)
Sat. night is out for me! Have a soiree to go to with RAW comics. Spaghetti Factory will be uber packed on just about every evening. We may have to do Beata's suggestion and have a couple of gatherings. We could use a Del Taco drive-thru as well. I was the Wed. night guy, but we'll see where the votes lie. Got my Cork books today!
Yeah, Scotty, you can't just drop a bombshell like that and not say anything more about it! I REALLY REALLY need to know how your books turned out! Start a new post for that topic. Take a picture of yourself holding one, a la Vanna White.
I was wondering if you knew how to do that Beata. When I make a typo on a comment, I click on the trash can icon, then the window you go to after that has a check box that says "Remove forever?" Check that box, and the old comment leaves no messy traces behind! Just right for obsessive types that don't like imperfections showing! I changed my vote because Scott's probably right about Spaghetti Factory being real crowded. Besides, I'm not planning on going to the Con Saturday, and if we are doing a Saturday night dinner as the vote seems to indicate, I don't want to have to drive downtown for it. If Jeff and Jim want Denny's, I'll happily throw my vote that way.
I'll try to start a new link! I'm still at work finishing up stuff needed by tomorrow. I have the next three days off for the Con, hence the late night. Plus I also have a little Photoshopping to do afterwards also. I'll TRY to update!
Let's poke Scotty in the eye with a sharp stick anyway, it would be fun. I'll find out about a few others who have not rang in but should have gotten the message on FB. What about Rick's WA bunch? never heard a word on that. What time do you want to do this Sat Dennys thing?
Exibit Hall doesn't close until 7pm on Sat. It's best to have it at 9PM. Gives peeps time to go back to their rooms and stuff to regroup. Plus by 9 it's probably cleared out all the suckers at Dennys.
It's kind of crazy to be writing this on Saturday a.m., but on Friday Brent Anderson said he was going to be going to the Kansas City BBQ to meet up with someone he knows after the Con Saturday night and encouraged me to share that with anyone and everyone. I'm now doing that (I'm really quite exhausted though and can't remember the precise time ...), but I think the momentum for Denny's is way too strong.
I myself will not be anywhere tonight. Because of ride sharing with another couple of guys, and bad time management, I haven't gotten more than 4 hours sleep any night since Wednesday, so this would take me back into that realm (again). By 9pm I'll be at home and quite possibly be in bed ... Next year I'll make better choices.
I enjoyed the Con this year. I was impressed by the fact that on the first day, Wednesday, I showed up at 9:00, and instead of having to wait for and hour in a mile-long line circling the block like last year, I was immediately directed to the correct door, walked right in, went to a registration table and picked up my badge in about two minutes! Then after a twenty minute wait in a hallway, we walked into the main floor, and I was in.
I had a great time at Denny's last night. Rick, your friends did not contact us. Did they make it down okay? Did they go to the right Denny's?
Well, it was worth a try. I'm not sure what sort of transport was available to them... they my just be shuttling from the airport to hotel with no car rental, so Mission Valley may have been out of their reach.
Glad you had fun! I plan on coming next year. You guys should come up for the Emerald City Con... not too big, not too small... juuuuust right.

Wait, I'm more interested in the little drawings hidden behind the survey. Are they yours Beata? And what's with the little promise rings link?
ReplyDeleteNice. Drawings and tech

The little promise rings link disappeared. It was there for a while in place of the "comments" link. It was some kind of sporadic ad I guess.
ReplyDeleteHmmm. Four different votes; four different choices! Maybe we will end up with a perfectly even distribution of votes across the field.
PROXIMITY!!! Crap ...
ReplyDeleteHide those sharp objects from me, too, TC.
Denny's in Mission Valley is Ok with me
ReplyDeleteOh! We will need to gag and tie up Buncake and throw him in the corner for amusement of all. Bring sharp sticks for your participation in that.
ReplyDeleteDenny's Mission Valley for nostalgia. Eggs over my Hammie!

ReplyDeleteHow about those Cork Books. Are you happy.

ReplyDeleteHey, Tom M:
ReplyDeleteDidn't you vote for the Old Spaghetti Factory earlier today? How did you get all traces of your comment to disappear from the blog?

ReplyDeleteJeff and Jim would want solidarity on this Denny's thing. I vote Denny's Sat Night. Then back to Culver city.

ReplyDeleteYeah, I'll switch my vote to Saturday night too.
ReplyDeleteYes ... I actually voted on my home computer a minute ago for dinner on Saturday night ...

ReplyDeleteRick's just waiting to for us to set a specific time and place, then he will send his friends to us I expect.
ReplyDeleteOkay, it sounds like Dennys in Mission Valley on Sat. night. Shall I tell people that it starts around 7:00?
ReplyDeletelets get a full con day in and meet at 10 pm
ReplyDeleteAlso I got the news to Brent, Dave and Ben

Thanks for the follow up, Jim!
ReplyDeleteI'm in ... ;-)
ReplyDeleteso...is it 9PM Saturday then at Dennys???? Chime in gangsters, so I can pass the word to the bodies at the Con.
ReplyDeleteI'll be there, but it remains to be seen whether or not I'll be square.
ReplyDeleteI'll be there, and Marty will be with me as well.

Your pals never called Rick. So they missed out on the gathering. Had a nice time.
