ReMasterwork
This is a "ReMasterwork"... our fantastic "workforce culture" people go to a bunch of thrift shops and pick up crappy old prints, photos and other images. Through a Yankee Swap method all the participants pick out their image to remaster. Then we are given some time to tinker with the image (no scanning and reworking on a computer... this is all hand manipulated directly onto the 'original') and bring it back to the office to share. This is my entry into the event. I think it should be pretty obvious what I added to it. I only used 3 pens... brown, black and a gel white. It worked out pretty well, I think.

Winner! Great idea for an art contest
ReplyDeleteFabulous work. All those panel lines on her face make her look odd and old at the same time, but also add interest. Then I noticed the dogs and I had to enlarge it. Let us know how the "show" goes.
ReplyDeleteWell done and bizarre. Does "workforce culture" people mean that your company actually has money in the budget to hire people to think up fun activities to raise company spirit?
ReplyDeleteT.M.: Yes! They are part Facilities people (those who order office supplies, get stuff in the building fixed, plan remodeling, etc.) and part "Let's make employees happy and maintain the company culture of having fun while doing hard work". They are really great and super supportive.
ReplyDeleteT.C.: The panels with the highlights an shadows made her look like a porcelain doll... not my original intent, but considering the Victorian nature of the image, entirely appropriate.
By the way my research indicates this is a limited edition print worth 114,000 dollars.
ReplyDeleteAs Inspector Clouseau might say... "Not any more".
