This Is Not A Telephone Pole

  1. Excellent. I like that back anatomy study. And that telephone pole poster and its colors are dazzling.

  2. This one makes me ponder. Not what it looks like? Web canopy of power wires? Stone wall? Picture at an angle? Implied crucifixion? Or infered?

  3. I agree with Ron. As interesting and eye-catching as this artwork is, it raises all kinds of questions (that want to be answered).

  4. Beautiful AND evocative... what more can you as of a work of art?

  5. Tommy, I esp'ly love the telephone pole. I really love telephone poles, and this one is exceptional.

Whole concept strikes me as great, but something about stone wall distracts me--could it be scale of stones? Their bigness + detail might trample beauty of telephone pole a little? Have you thought of going with a smaller stone pattern?

This will look great in the Tom Moon art book at the TAG table net year....

  7. Very interesting visually. Three different layers to look at. Each layer could stand on its own.

The wonderful telephone pole drawing made me laugh a little. Just recently a customer gave me a Magritte moment.

  8. My company, Golden Acorn Rubber Stamps, produces rubber stamps of various images for arts and crafts. The stamps are sold on the internet through sites like ecrater, etsy, and ebay. The customer returned an item, an unmounted rubber stamp of an egg beater. It wasn’t the return of the item but the surreal, handwritten note that was sent with the item:

"Please refund me. I thought I was ordering a real egg beater w/a handle. DO NOT LIKE STAMPS!"

This has inspired me to create some rubber stamped artwork in the style of Magritte.

  9. Funny story Deane. Also I think you deserve a gold-plated No-Prize for being the first to mention the Magritte reference in the picture.
