Hounds - Click Headline for new Cintiq

I sold this painting on EBAy about 6 years ago. I'm looking at material to put into another Lulu book. I enhanced the colors in photoshop.

The new cintiq is basically a drawing table. Set your coffee on it.

Tuesday Doodle.
I'm going to draw every Bruce Timm scrap I have. Because no one channels Kirby in as cool and clean a way. I felt his coolness flowing into me as I copied Poison Ivy.

  3. Thanks guys. I'm going to try and turn my "worry" brain off today and do some art.

  4. Great work on this piece, Ellis. I like the whole story and look of it. "Dagnabbit, get back back here, you old flea-bag!!"

  5. I thought of it more as being out for a joy run with your dog.

  6. Yup... delightful! I wish I drew it/painted it!

  7. Thanks. You guys gave me so much positive about this I made it my new twitter ID. Sherm Cohen made a point that an artist should have art instead of personal photo. So I ditched my weird Diane Arbus-style looking ID.

  8. We know we are having a positive impact if it's affecting your Twitter account....

Very nice painting--great texture in the sky. Perhaps they are running to investigate a strange light falling from the sky...?

  9. Love the colors in the painting…and regarding the Bruce Timm exercises, it's cool how one can absorb so much by "eating the brains" of our heroes :)

  10. Hey Sherm. Thanks for commenting. I am getting a ton of good out of your DVDs. High value return for a little money spent. You've got a great selling point about thousands spent on schools vs the couple of bucks on your watch-anytime knowledge.

I'm into that Bruce Timm. And due to the efforts of a selfless right-click-saver before me, I have a lot of it to study.

  11. El, I gotta say I prefer Darwyn Cook(e?) to Timm. YES, I know Timm gets a lot of credit for going after this style, but the comics I've seen from each gives Cooke the nod. And he was going for this simpler style early on, too, from what I can gather (and they both worked together a long time on the TV series).

Krayonzilla and Tom, we need your comic-knowledge two-cents worth!

  12. I love Darwyn Cooke. I'm buying up all of his Parker books. The Hunter and The Outfit thus far. If there's another one, I need to know about it.

  13. Heh! These are great. The guy chasing the dog is so non-sequiter. The other sketches are excellent too. Made me laugh!
